OPPO rolls out ColorOS 16 July update with new fingerprint animations, camera filters, Contact Poster preview and smoother performance
OPPO India has announced the July monthly update for ColorOS 16, introducing new personalization features, camera enhancements, Contact Poster improvements, and system optimizations. The latest update focuses on making everyday interactions more customizable while improving overall system responsiveness and Face Unlock reliability. The ColorOS 16 July update will be rolled out in phases to eligible OPPO smartphones throughout the month.
New Fingerprint Unlock Customization
One of the biggest additions in the July update is support for customizable fingerprint unlock animations and icon styles. Users can now mix and match different fingerprint icons and unlock animations, allowing them to personalize one of the most frequently used interactions on their smartphone.
According to OPPO, the feature is designed to make unlocking the device feel more expressive and tailored to individual preferences.
New Camera Filters
The native Camera app receives two new photography filters:
The Primrose filter is designed for warmer-looking photos, while the Bold B&W filter offers a monochrome style for dramatic black-and-white photography. Both filters are available directly within the stock camera app.
Contact Poster Preview Support
ColorOS 16 also introduces a new Contact Poster preview feature.
Users can now preview and customize Contact Posters before assigning them, making it easier to personalize how they appear during calls with friends and family.
Smoother Animations & Face Unlock Improvements
The July update also includes several system-level enhancements.
Recent Tasks now feature smoother transition animations for a more fluid multitasking experience, while overall responsiveness has also been improved.
Face Unlock has also been updated with support for a backup face profile, helping improve recognition reliability across different lighting conditions and everyday usage scenarios.
